The main thing is that this doesn't become another shipping fan theory, which is promoted not so much by some real things as by the pure desire for it to be real. Shonen Jump already has too rich a history with this, lmao.

If you're a desperate shipper, maybe. But if we strip away the memes and intentional jokes/shipping goggles, most of this is even less romantic than post time-skip Usagi Drop.. I mean, even if we only talk about this scene directly, it has a clear context without any ambiguity. But I can already see how people go beyond jokes and hope for something.

Why? The way the author writes the interactions between the female characters and generally stages the events clearly has a shonen structure.

Really good to see Ruri properly apologizing to Kashiro and recognizing she was in the wrong. Luckily for her Kashiro saw from like a mile away that she was projecting her insecurities and she has a heart big enough to look past Ruri's harsh words.
Just like I said a few chapters away, the dragon stuff was just the hook to approach Ruri. True friends will stay because of who she is, not because of what she looks or what crazy stunts she can pull.

Well, it would be weird if a nakama power shonen manga or any teen manga for that matter ended the arc with the character forever fighting with their close friends with no chance of making up again.
