This entire part is pretty much the worst part of the story to raise the stakes. Everything MC did since the start meant nothing once he left Ana alone and let her get captured like the retard he is. All the leveling (for Ana), items he gathered, him knowing the plot etc. Meaningless. Only linchpin holding the story in place is the deus-ex anti rape hairpin which was not something MC planned at all. If it was not for that, original bad end for her would have already happened just like it did in the game.

Story might as well started 3 chapters ago and we would miss nothing.

In prisons, it is mostly used for days, at most weeks if I'm not wrong. One full year of this might make her go literally crazy. But I'm pretty sure she won't stay there that long; the MC will probably find her before a year has passed I think.

if it goes according to the novel, it'll be about 3-4 chapters. We'll probably get a gloating episode for the fake Heroine, then Alan finds out where Anastasia is being held in the Imperial Capital. The Imperial Second Prince and the Mage are brutally murdered and Alan is put into a situation where Anastasia's mind may be too far gone. Then we'll get into a bit of an arc that Alan risks his life to bring Anastasia back but now needs her help to come back himself.

Honestly I always felt that was the point of it. One TINY moment essentially avoided MC plan to save her going tits up and it wasn't anything he REALLY did other then bringing her to the Village which wouldn't have happened if they never met or got close! So those things DO matter. I will agree I DID hate this part in the story, even if the two TRASH (The Imperial Prince and the Bald scumbag who tried to break her) got what they deserved via MC






SPOILERS Sadly she's going to be out of action for a Good while even after this. MC saves her RIGHT before the "Cursed Sword" thing happens. (Even without the wrap, she still gets BROKEN because the scumbag LIE to her about the fate of her family and MC and with the isolation and poor conditions, she starts to almost give in to despair) But she's going to be catatonic for a good while even after the rescue, it is NICE when she comes out of it. But I'm sure the Manga Writer and Artist are going to make Amy VERY annoying going forward from this (since Amy is SO obsessed with wanting to see Ana fall to ruin and MC "get cucked" for no other reason then she's a disgusting individual) so yeah exactly like the SPOILERS above, but yeah I get Drama, but seriously when your updates are SO FUCKING SLOW! It's AGONIZING for the Audience, especially if you pulling the "I'm going to break a chapter into two parts and CLAIM it makes releasing chapters SO much faster when it DOESN'T and I'm lying out my ass just to get a Break! (Seriously I get it and sympathize, but seriously you don't have to LIE about it!) I think I'm SKIPPING updates Till 11 chapters get released. These "Cliffhangers" fucking ANNOY ME TO HELL!)

From what i remember, it should be around atleast another 2-4 chapters (can't really make an accurate guess, as it's been a while since i read the WN, and plot flow speed in Manga is different from WN).

They are after her high magic affinity (for a curse). But to be able to use that, she needs to give in mentally. Rape is off the table so they are using mental torture techniques so they can make her go full despair mod.

Exactly. Solitary confinement can lead to serious and lasting psychological damage. Physical and social isolation, coupled with sensory deprivation and forced idleness, create a toxic combination. Deprive a person of being able to do anything, and he/she will pretty much lose touch with one's morals and would be willing to agree to anything, in order to do something. What's the point of living if that's all you're doing... living?

I can understand the mental strain, after a year one would definitely go a little crazy, but forced idleness to agree to anything? Idk that seems like a stretch, but I feel like if It were me I’d just entertain myself with my own thoughts, but my ADHD is really good at fabrication so I would go a little mad but I don’t think I’d feel compelled to do ANYTHING to stop it. But 🤷‍♂️ I’m not a psychologist nor have I ever been in a year of forced isolation or studied it

Have you ever read prison reports on inmates who are sentenced to solitary confinement due to bad behavior? Most try to avoid that and would rather be put on the chain gang. Being forced to a small, cold room with little to no light can really mess with your mind, even for a short while. The prisoners are already doomed to long stretches of time in a jail cell. Now cut that space in half and just give the minimum amount needed for food, water and light. All that sensory deprivation is going to make your sense of reality go off-kilter.
