On one hand, I'm really sad to see such a fun series go. On the other hand, I'm very pro mangaka having a plan and ending the series when they want to rather than just stretching it out until it gets axed.

Sad to see it end so quickly, but it seems like it was at least planned this way from the start. Always happy to see an artist get to end a story on their own terms instead of either getting axed or pointlessly stretching it out past it's expiry date.

Yeah, I assumed this line about the author not being able to make it by the deadline (quite a few authors experiencing this lately). The next line says that because of the break, the author would put in even more effort into the remaining two chapters (the author says this like we already knew they announced it as a short series).

Not that it makes a huge difference.

Only 8 chapters is crazy though. I don't mind short serialisations but I feel like there's enough story potential for this to run a little longer. There's still the topic of untangling Kira's newfound (genuine) love, or even just telling how Kurata is going to balance everything without ending like her dad

It is what it is though, I just hope the author can land the ending nicely.
