Well, she was left to be raised almost entirely by the wet nurse. I suspect the wet nurse implanted some superiority complex on accident by continously calling her "a genius" or something like that and after her father left her to her own devices with unlimited power resulted in this.

Going by the flashback, she was already crazy when she was spouting about being "the chosen one", which would suggest she was already chosen as a saint at that point.
