I'd argue the same for fmc mc i think the best friend is the only one that acts normal for their age then again both fmc and mc seems to be a bit eccentric in their own wayTrue, but the mental maturity of the kid doesn't seem to match... the age of around 17
Sure! let's ignore just how INTENTIONALLY DARK that 1 singular backstory frame with 'I want to break up' is, and not naturally infer that dark(er) stuff awaits us ahead. Are you suggesting that relationships never end? That any couple that has a kid will remain a permanent aspect of each other's lives in all circumstances? That there has never been a situation were someone walks out on their family and is just never seen by them again? Divorces where one parent just cut ties don't happen? Families where a parent dies don't happen?
You're dreading something will happen because you assume something will happen. Nothing has hinted that "Dad" is ever going so show up. The story isn't alleviating your concern because you concern is a boogeyman y'all are making up
That had nothing to do with the girl's father and was about the two people that were currently talking. It's framed as an unpleasant memory of the protag and is being used to contrast how different their situation is now compared to when they first broke up. Nothing has indicated that they're on the run from an abusive ex like y'all keep speculating about.Sure! let's ignore just how INTENTIONALLY DARK that 1 singular backstory frame with 'I want to break up' is, and not naturally infer that dark(er) stuff awaits us ahead.
IT DOESN'T MATTER. That's the answer. Her father is implied to exist because of biology, but other than that, he's irrelevant to the story. We MIGHT get a page or two talking about him someday, but until then, there isn't actually a reason to think about him.Not to mention that everything you mentioned beg asking the question "SO WHAT HAPPEND WITH THE FATHER OF THAT GIRL???"
Just because it happens doesn't mean that IT'S OK and that we should thus ignore it.
Most of them luckily left after the first few chapters. I still don't get people who hate read and are just here to troll. Though I guess they're probably the same lot as /a/.im just here for our regularly scheduled crashouts saying he should lynch the girl
That's what I've been thinking. They look exactly alike so my theory is that is not her daughter, but her sister who her elderly parents foisted on her to take care of and now they're gone. That could also explain her disappearance. Only one way to find out thoughMy money's been on that that's not her daughter. She broke up bc she had to go take care of a dead relative's baby or something along those lines.
If she moves out then she'll have to work full time to pay the rent and buy food for the two of them. She wouldn't have time to his model because he couldn't pay her enough that she could live separately without working....
They don't even MENTION the possibility of moving out and working as a model for him, because that would be sensible. It's so funny that they didn't show the most awkward part of the dialogue: "you can help me by working for me as a model... By the way, you HAVE to live here for as long as that's a thing. It's how this stuff works I don't make the rules". Who even brought that up and how, exactly?
I also like how this whole thing seems like an "Achille and the Tortoise" paradox, where she is paying him back for staying there by working... And staying there, which she'll have to pay for too, maybe? Is the protagonist secretly a genius stalker and managed to trap Kyou forever with this one simple trick?
...
Japanese school laws are pretty strict. If she's in middle school/junior high then she isn't old enough to be his daughter (unless she's failed at least twice) because to be his daughter she would be in 2nd or 3rd year HS. Without failing or being so extremely brilliant that you are allowed to skip grades then you will be in the follow grades based on your start/end ages.Lying about her age isn't out the question to be honest. The issue becomes, why? But then again, that the entire motivating factor for this series, if it was just cuteness it would get nowhere as much attention.
You Like Me, Not My Daughter?!could be her sister and their mom passed away early after birth so she raised her as her own daughter since they look so similar?
They've been no-contact for 17 years. I think that qualifies as ghosting, unless your definition requires that she just disappeared and didn't ask to break up.The "ghosting" was something y'all made up on your own. Y'all didn't want to like her on premise alone and have been just making shit up to be mad at her about
Mary's husband Joseph raised Jesus as his own son and apprenticed him as a carpenter. It wasn't a single-parent household. You do know that single parent households don't just happen, right? Aside from that one time with Mary?
...
I'm talking about the birth part, not the parenting. And even in that case, people asked why and how she got pregnant.Mary's husband Joseph raised Jesus as his own son and apprenticed him as a carpenter. It wasn't a single-parent household.
Yes. From my understanding, "ghosting" someone means to actively choose to avoid someone without telling them about it. This situation doesn't sound like she was avoiding him. It looks more like they BOTH just never tried to call each other. This isn't ghosting, it's just two adults drifting apart and losing contactThey've been no-contact for 17 years. I think that qualifies as ghosting, unless your definition requires that she just disappeared and didn't ask to break up.
I never said it had anything to do with the father, you assumed it on your own. I simply pointed to the obvious point that it was DARK . You concluding that it was related to the father just proves that subconsciously, you also connected it to the possibility of it being related to fishy stuff we're still kept in the dark about. That had nothing to do with the girl's father and was about the two people that were currently talking. It's framed as an unpleasant memory of the protag and is being used to contrast how different their situation is now compared to when they first broke up. Nothing has indicated that they're on the run from an abusive ex like y'all keep speculating about.

This story is not about the girl's biological father. It's about the man who's about to become her stepfather
Except literally the whole story so far omitting the father, and forcing us to speculate. I'll reiterate.Nothing has indicated that they're on the run from an abusive ex
No, it may indeed not be her daughter, and be related to dead relatives, but that can't be the reason for the break up, because A) the reason we're indicated was something somewhat darker (she could have been honest from the start if this was the case) B) the timeline doesn't match, else the guy could have speculated it was actually his daughter age-wise.That's what I've been thinking. They look exactly alike so my theory is that is not her daughter, but her sister who her elderly parents foisted on her to take care of and now they're gone. That could also explain her disappearance. Only one way to find out though
I was trying to stay on topic as the conversation was about the father and the "evidence" pointing towards his relevance had nothing to do with himI never said it had anything to do with the father, you assumed it on your own. I simply pointed to the obvious point that it was DARK . You concluding that it was related to the father just proves that subconsciously, you also connected it to the possibility of it being related to fishy stuff we're still kept in the dark about.
I'm speculating on information actually given and how these stories tend to play out. The only time her father was brought up was to make it clear to the audience that it isn't the protag. Based on the information we have been given, nothing has indicated that he will be relevant. Until new information proves otherwise, this will continue to be the most reasonable assumption.I'll reiterate: IT'S OK TO SPECULATE. IT'S WEIRD TO NOT. WHY WOULD YOU ASSUME YOU KNOW WHAT'S TRUE, WHEN WE'RE OBJECTIVLY IN THE DARK ABOUT THE ACTUAL TRUTH ? How do you magically know the father is irrelevant to the story ? Why do you simply see 'oh contrast now vs when they broke up' and not 'OH... WHAT HAPPEND THAT WAS SO DARK WHEN THEY BROKE UP ?' It's literal objective, not ignorance, outright denial of reality on your part. "LALALA, IT DOESN"T MATTER, FORGET THE PAST, STOP BEING CURIOUS, LOOK HOW CUTE THE PRESENT IS"
Nobody is forcing you to do shit. Y'all are choosing to do so on your own. You're fixating on something that isn't even a plot point. I assume things "didn't work out" with the father and moved on. Until something proves otherwise, that's all the thought it deserves.Except literally the whole story so far omitting the father, and forcing us to speculate. I'll reiterate.
You're having to invent scenarios to be upset about. Just assume the most peaceful one until proven otherwise. You've also not actually provided any proof of anything being DARK. You pointed to an unpleasant memory. The fact that his friend was aware of the breakup and just assumed they got back together when he saw her again points more towards it being much more mundane that y'all are pretending it wasGIRL

You keep ignoring that WE HAVE THESE 2 IMPORTANT QUESTIONS UNANSWERED, AND KEEP IGNORING THAT like 3/4 of the answers to both of them are DARK. Complete willful ignorance that 'its all sunshine and rainbows, there's no way there's dark stuff in the story (DESPITE THE LITERALL PROOF THAT I POINTED TO)'
Protag was sad when they broke up and the Mom had trouble raising her daughter on her own, leading her to try for a fresh start with the protag. Yes, we're definitely getting a School Days ending from this manga.I swear, the story will either have a reckoning with you 'only sunshine rainbows curtness and positivity' people when the inevitably bad/dark stuff is revealed, or it will be a complete drag ala rent-a-girlfriend where the story drags on-and-on and never actual bothers advancing the explanation of the past.
Dawg, of all the things I expected of this comment section, I really should have seen this one coming. I've nothing to add besides that she's adorable and must be protectedSo, they won't move over. More opportunities for ex's daughter x MC ship![]()
