Vtubers call the artist who drew their model "mama", so he is probably taking her to some artist he knows to brainstorm what her vtuber persona will look like.

Isn't becoming a Vtuber pretty damn expensive? Even if they get the "mama" to design her character for free or for a favor, she'll either be a pngtuber or then need a "papa" to rig the model that can be even more expensive than the character, unless it's done for free or as a favor again. Then there's face-tracking, a decent enough computer and streaming set-up, etc. I mean, I know he's a big clipper for the girl that went on hiatus but this girl is in for a world of sticker shock unless there are plenty of conveniences heading their way.

The art depends mostly on the artist being hired, but IIRC unless you're getting someone who's a major name within the anime/manga/art scene, it's a few hundred or so.

Model + rigging can very easily range into the thousands too (more than the PC at the higher end), but it's quite reasonable to start off with a cheaper/lower quality one and move up from there.

That's basically a cardinal taboo in Japanese idol culture, of which vtubing essentially exists as a tangent of.

Well, there are some face capturing tools that are not that expensive and that don't require rigging. A lot of vtubers start with things like this and then they do an upgrade later with the resources they get as a vtuber
