i didnt like these rich people parties because veryone was always looking down on me ans making fun of me
if the guy my friend is dating turns out to be poor i just have to take him out of the picture
The concept is born more of needing a way to disrupt the status quo of the main couple. The idea is to give them drama and an outside influence to move events both in an interesting direction but also to advance their relationship in some way. The Author would have to write the main couple as socially mature and aware which is against the point of such a "will they won't they" story as this if they wanted to avoid giving them a "push".I don't know why mangakas keep cooking these types of characters even though literally everyone hates them. It's like they're trying to copy how Yuri / Yaoi mangas keep adding crazy straight rivals for no reason other than to devalue the other sexuality, even though Yuri / Yaoi fans also hate them.
I would rather get a typical love rival than this lesbian rival shit!
Dude, I know why rivals exist. I'm more so complaining about how the fuck does crazy lesbian rivals even come to fruition considering they literally suck ass from a writing and entertainment perspective. And furthermore, why aren't we getting a gay male love interest for the male MC? We haven't got a legitimately good rival for romances lately unless it's Shoujo because the rest is plagued with annoying lesbian piece of shits. A regular rival works way better than whatever they're tryna cook with this trope. The concept is born more of needing a way to disrupt the status quo of the main couple.
