Although it is possible his dad maybe working as a salaryman in Tokyo, it'd be weird he lives by himself and not staying with his dad. Spending for a rents and other utilities for two separate places should be more expensive than a one larger one? There might be scenario like the distance from Univ and his dad workplace might not work out, but that should mean they won't be walking around the same vicinity, too.

IIRC he mentioned his hometown is in Hiroshima, and when he talk with his native accent he sounds like delinquent/yakuza (Japan associates hiroshima accent with yakuza because there's a popular, long running yakuza movie series set in yokohama)

Sorry, I mistyped lol. The series is set in Hiroshima. It's titled "battle without honor or humanity", and a lot of pop culture things associated with yakuza is based on these movies. Think of them as the movie Godfather but for yakuza.
