Kotobuki is throwing Onimai dough at the wall and seeing what sticks. Exploring the theoretical extremes the story can take without stopping to take a breath. If continuity gets in the way of these mad experiments, then it's not necessary. Honestly that's more than a bit considerate of Kotobuki, since the mainline series seems to take some inspiration from these experiments but finding an organic way towards them. Augmenting the main series instead of competing with it. I'll hold Nekotofu alone to continuity.
