Absolutely the best one to come out of this volume, despite some plot holes. I wish the freckles were real, but I do at least like her hairstyle at the end.

Her stepmother let her have Molterre, but she signed away her everything to her stepmother, including her inheritance/position/domain. Her land, although under her, is still part of the now stepmother's domain. She didn't just split off and started her own house, that requires the king to say so. So she's really a vassal under her stepmother and her stepmother can remove her and collect everything back anytime. Depending on what she signed away - her family's 'treasure' - if it's written and understood as that, then her step mother can actually force her to cough up everything in her head or she'll be thrown into the dungeons, since she did signed away everything.

Yeah but that’d require the step mother to battle an army of angry crows. Plus, if the prince gave the king any kind of heads up about the situation, he’d make sure such a thing never came to pass

Step mom was definitely an idiot who clearly had no actual knowledge of how the business ran and just saw it as a money/prestige producer. I would’ve loved to see a page of people explaining to her that they can’t actually make anything without mc and the land she just kinda gave away

This is great, one of the few stories I want more of.
It’s rare to find a nerdy eccentric girl in fantasy settings as the main character; even more rare for it to be good. Most I’ve found has either stopped being scanned.. or was just advertisement for the light novel
Esperance also checks out a lot of my boxes that I like in her design as an eccentric nerd type. ie being clumsy in the last panel, so cute, I want more.

I'll never understand why freckles are seen as ugly in some countries, she was adorable with and without them.

The art was really good in general though hopefully the artist gets a good project to work on eventually.

Though I would be super angry in universe thinking this kid got robbed of her entire inheritance so easily and no one returned it to her when it was SO obviously a grift by her step mum and sis.

Freckles are a skin impurity that caused by exposure to the sun, and is only really seen in lower class as any real lady of nobility should have a proper hat with brim and a parasol to protect face and shoulders anytime they were out in the sun

But besides its quirks and humour, it'll still have a pretty cliche plot: supposed villains are dum-dums, people simping over MC, capitalism, exploitations, OP stuff, and MC, against her wishes, won't likely get out of the queen route 💁‍♀️

Its good, but containing it to a one shot definitely hurt the story I feel. Rushed, not enough time to savor the step mother and sister's downfall, seeing how they develop the land, etc.

But like Flowery Path of Evil, I hope it spins off into its own series.
