Sasuga sensei really knows how to tell a story. Even if it's nonsense, they know how to keep it interesting. So I liked that the innkeeper kind of just tore into him. She was all of us. But I am also glad that he didn't magically get better. He took the advice, but is struggling with his insecurities.

Likely that it's none of his business and the kid hadn't been around where he could be seen by the MC before then. They may be former schoolmates but they're really barely only friends by the thinnest of circumstances.
