This shit is so ass?????

The cult with agents that's going around in the background says that some people are agents going around for a cult in the background???? That's a nice argument senator, why don't you back that up with a source?

As I expected, it's not just the one Childhood Friend that causes him trouble, now there's THREE OF THE FUCKERS. WOW. PEAK CREATIVE STORYTELLING MOMENTS.

Okay so, call me a noob at storytelling, but how exactly is that a bad thing? Iirc, didn't the same thing happened with Fairy Tail? (Zeref, cults, etc.)

This childhood friend is just one huge contradiction. A hero killer part of a huge underground organization that is going against a powerful cult, yet has zero information on the MC but has info on the hero which he was in a party with until recently. Hates the cult for kill her friends, but is doing the same thing, or even worse actions than what the cults show to have done. Her so called comrades she doesn’t even bat an eyelid when they die but mets a childhood friend who is supposed to be dead and freaks out like crazy?

I’m just super confused at what this character is supposed to be.

I don’t really know what’s going on either. But I’ve read part of the original novel up to here and it’s adapted kind of similar, but done better in the novel so it makes more sense.

For what it’s worth, the childhood friend seems genuine and I think she loved/had deep crush on the mc. Am unsure exactly what happened, but something bad happened when they were kids and she decided to get stronger for his sake after he disappeared when their village basically went kaput.

I didn’t get much further than this point though. So idk what happens next lol

While not mad yet, this chapter does have me grumbling... Already we see her and her superior being all "oh no friendship, I hope we can save the day" despite the previous chapters establishing them as butchers.

The author can still turn this around, but it'll require some proper explanations about what the hell is going on! Sadly, with a tournament arc looming, the plot is gonna be backburnered for a while I think.

Yeah, with this organization and CF being straight up unabashed murderers, I hope it's going to be turn out more complicated than, "they're right, the ends justify the means, they're forgiven."

But, nah she almost assuredly is going to be forgiven.

What cult are they talking about?
Also tournament is mostly the most boring arc

This side plot of the childhood friend and an imaginary cult seems to be out of the blue....

or did I miss a plot point somewhere
I think it's always been hinted that there were 2 distinct groups in the shadows, however their activities have been somewhat overlapping which is causing confusion making us think there's only 1 organization and that Shion was being fooled. The Cult seems to be pinning most of their wrongdoings on Shion's organization through the gaslighting they've done to Oliver and Orun, however there's no denying that Shion's group isn't really helping their case considering Shion literally slaughtered a bunch of adventurers on the lower floors for no apparent reason (Probably the same reason why she was sent to kill Orun, they were probably cultists or at least hired by the cult). This is why the guy said that Orun would probably never forgive them, he'll see them as an enemy; especially now that they've directly attacked him and his disciples. It's about to be a good ol standoff with Orun, The Cult, and Shion's Organization.

Sucks for her though, she was in love with Orun IIRC, but with the path she chose, she probably lost any chances she had with him. I'm somewhat surprised he didn't recognize her, but then again she didn't recognize him despite immediately recognizing his fighting style

why are they referring to eachother as cults?, who tf is actually in a cult I’m confused as fck😑
I think what's going on here is that the actual cult is making Shion's organization out to be the Cult in order to gaslight Oliver and Orun... but Shion's organization isn't exactly helping their case considering all the murdering they've done based on their own paranoia.
