…Yeah I'm not joining a discord server.
if it was just
a discord server that would be one thing, but I'm definitely not joining 50 different discord servers to keep up with all the series I read.
Edit: You asked if we had better ideas, I can't reply because apparently you can't add more comments to deleted chapters but I'll paste the reply that I wrote here even though I don't expect you'll actually see it.
"Hey I get it from the scanlation teams' perspective. You already have a discord and it's convenient, plus it being private offers some protection. But us the readers don't want to check two dozen different places every day for updates, that's the whole reason aggregators exist and are so immensely popular, right? And on top of that my personal issue with everything moving to discord these days (and this is not limited to manga. it's almost every app, game, or site that used to have a forum) is that it's not indexed by search engines and sooner or later will be lost forever.
If I was part of a scanlation team for a series like this one that
wasn't affected by the DMCA strike I'd want to just keep uploading here, make hay while the sun shines. Otherwise I'd upload chapters to some of the many other aggregator sites and make sure my work is preserved by spreading it so widely that it can't all be taken down."
