So I spent the last four days rereading and piecing together a timeline of events. I found two inconsistencies: one between the first flashback in chapter 1 and the information Kaoru shares in chapter 29, and another regarding how long Kaoru has been pregnant. More details are below. I’ll put it in a spoiler button to avoid polluting the forum with a lengthy post.

So when chapter 28 revealed that Kaoru was 16 weeks pregnant, I decided to run the numbers. The exam—probably an ultrasound—was done on December 25th. Counting back 16 weeks puts the conception date around September 5th.
But in chapter 31, it’s heavily implied that Kaoru and Hasumi had unprotected sex on September 18th.
I thoroughly researched the accuracy of ultrasounds (I asked ChatGPT):
Also, in chapter 34, we see condoms in Kaoru’s house, suggesting that her mother’s boyfriend probably didn’t have unprotected sex with her—so the baby is most likely Hasumi’s.

I suspect that the discrepancy is explained by the author having done less research on this subject than you. (Not sarcasm.)
The author didnt really go much into detail. He probably didnt research this much. Hell askimg chatgpt ismt even that reliable. I suspect the moms boyfriend would be the father is more likely considering the tone. Imo this us just one big cope post.

Didn't read your whole thing but I think your starting is wrong. Chapter 1 is present day (2022), not 2021.

You should read it, then. Chapter 1 is set in the present and begins on December 22, 2022, but it includes many flashbacks. One of them has a timestamp, and when cross-referenced with Chapter 33, it places that flashback in 2021.
