The story might be an eternal game of Reversi where each time someone loses a single piece remains (One Piece). Imu controls the black pieces and Nika the white ones.

Maybe Haki can disrupt the control. That's why many focus on Haki recently. Kaido calling Haki triumph everything, Shanks haki displays, Joyboy haki sending back the Gorosei, and Gaban haki nullifying HK regens from Imu.

technically it is. the first hint haki can do them was touching logia. logia can control his own body's matter. since that control of body's own matter of logia relate to devil fruit so it should be the same principle to other use of devil fruit. it maybe hard to something that the devil fruit user can't control anymore. like doffy's birdcage, sugar's memory loss, punk hazard's island climate, boa's human statue. haki can't disrupt the effect of devil fruit that already loss in control.

Yeah, but imo I think Haki on the level of Joyboy can disrupt them, even Boa's petrification or Sugar's puppet body. It just matter on the level of haki.

Blackbeard doesn't seem to focus on strengthening his haki and relies more on Devil fruit which is probably him taking the same path as Imu.
