So, if he is earnest and he's just the easily misunderstood type but is actually a puppy dog type character, which is one of the kind of tropes that can be utilized with this kind of character, and not the other trope which is that he is actually a deceitful mastermind who can play up the aforementioned upbeat positive good guy.

Then that means this group of people not only got the strongest shield, but now have the strongest spear.
