He said he finds an affectionate hug disgusting.
This is baaad.

This is bad to do to non-ace people.
This is ASSAULT.
The fact that they're fine in the future is kinda messed.
I think we can save the judgement till next chapter comes out. As Aroace person, expect an slap coming if someone tried to this to me.

While it might be this but kinda doesn't feel right. But kiss is a bit pushing it. That's why I am hoping that Kagiura stopped himself right when he was about to kiss. I believe in Sensei and her writing so we all gotta wait till next month for answer.
yes I completely agree with you, I also think he might have stopped right before actually kissing him and I really hope it is what is going to happen

AAAAA !!!! 🤯 I GASPED.. I had such a knee jerk reaction reading this yesterday but now, thinking back on it, as a storyteller myself, my mind is buzzing............. I can't tell what's going to happen but I'm on the edge of my seat !!

I love the title "Overlapping," for this chapter - that's really such a theme in general for kagihira. where do they meet? their mindsets contrast a lot but, when put into a different context, they align. I love that Kagiura's bad basketball experience was brought up in this, showing how Hirano's words made sense to him but only clicked in his heart now. the context was different… he could see the true meaning of Hirano's words, now that he was given time to reflect on them and grow as a person.

same with Hirano…! it's so interesting to me that Kagi had never thought about kissing Hirano until Niibashi asked him. and then, as the story progressed, it was Hirano who thought about kissing - he's the one who brought it up to Kagi, too. it makes sense to me, the disconnect between their thoughts and their hearts, adjusting their context, letting these seemingly contrasting concepts finally overlap.

as a Certified Demiromantic Asexual™ (lol, note: my experience is not universal), I unfortunately relate to the “I don't like this” - only to later like it depending on the specific person I'm with, which also changes depending on how my relationship progresses with them, and also if they like it (especially if it's how they show affection), I start to like it too, charmed by the idea that it makes them happy.

I'm not sure if that's what's going on with Hirano but, from a storytelling perspective, I feel so intrigued by the possibilities. I actually think it'd be so powerful that Hirano disliked the last time Kagi was seemingly impulsive (when Kagi hugged him), only for this next seemingly impulsive act to feel completely different for him. now that he knows he loves Kagi, everything has shifted, he's unable to go back, unable to think the way he used to. his thoughts and heart are finally clicking… so, I'm curious if Hirano will enjoy the kiss, dislike it, or if it'll make him question even more? how will he feel? is this a turning point? or is it just another step in their journey? it can go anywhere 🤯

idk! if I take this out of the context of kagihira I'm a bit shocked and I'm like “please don't do this, life isn't an exercise in symbolic storytelling,” but I do think because of sensei's storytelling, I wanted to look a bit deeper. in the context of kagihira, it's different - I feel like that's probably why we had that little moment during the scavenger hunt where Kagi didn't take Hirano's hand until Hirano told him it was ok, trying to further the idea that maybe Kagi's not as impulsive as his behavior makes him appear.

it seemed impulsive, like Kagi was pushing Hirano's boundaries and not getting consent - but I don't think that was supposed to be the point (even though irl it is regardless lol 😭). what I think is interesting is when Hirano told Kagi he wanted to give Kagi a reply, Kagi seemed to automatically recognize that Hirano was going to reciprocate. throughout the series, there's a lot of symbolism on how they contrast (even in this chapter, things like specifically bringing out that Hirano was on the opposing team during the scavenger hunt, etc) - but this is the chapter where they finally came together, finally aligned, just the two of them. Kagi seemed to know what Hirano was thinking. and Hirano seemed to know what Kagi was feeling, what Kagi's “love” was. all of Kagi's kind words to Hirano in this chapter deeply touched Hirano, he recognized it as Kagi’s love. to me, it seems that maybe despite both of them being clumsy, suddenly the heart (Kagi) and the mind (Hirano) overlapped, finally clicking.

FHSJF that was cheesy and messy ughhhhhh 🤣 anyway this was too much and I sound like an art student during critique 🤣 but those are my thoughts…… I have many feelings.. I love them 😭

edit: I forgot to say, thank you so much for the TL !!! 💖💖💖

If it was cheesy and messy then I want more art students doing critique. I feel like I find new prospective whenever I read them. I feel like I can comprehend the chapter/story, at the same time I can't. Maybe I am stupid but it's fun to see different prospective.

you're not stupid 💗!! since we all have different perspectives, we all have different interpretations. I love reading what everyone else says too, it also influences me 🤭 part of consuming media is taking all those perspectives and connecting them to the story to shape it into something else. a good writer will be able to tell their story simply and clearly while also having enough background planning / intent so people can deep dive and connect threads if they want to 😍

NOOOOOOO KAGIIII DONT DO THAT????!!???!!??!?!??!?"?!¤?==%# Oh my god everything leading up to that ending was so sweet and hopeful and then the last page was like a frying pan slammed right into my face. A thousand alarm sirens going off in my head right now due to the stress of what's gonna happen next. I really hope Hirano doesn't like . want to throw up after this or something, although in all fairness it's not his fault if he has that bad of a reaction 😭😭 Oobgh why did it have to go this wayyyyy... I want to be optimistic and hope for a good outcome or that it's a fakeout but I dunno man. The way it was framed made it seem pretty bad.

On a happier note, Hirano was soooooooooo cute this chapter, big fan of him blushing and being emo over his feelings <3 Now to wait until they actually talk things out... Honestly I'm a little bummed that the reply was cut off like that, I'm sure we'll get it later but aaaaggghhh the mood was so perfect and I really wanted to know how Hirano was going to phrase his thoughts in this exact moment. I know that sudden dramatic twists at crucial moments are written in the 'obligatory BL tropes' guidebook, but still. Could Kagi really not have at least waited a few seconds first.. lol

With all that being said I really really loved this chapter and sensei's writing continues to impress me; how she's able to add such emotion and profundity into simple quiet moments, and how delicately she portrays self-discovery.

Oh and also I completely dissipated during Kagi's speech at the event, I was FIGHTING the tears reading that ;__; <3 Uoogh the fluff of it all....... Hirano's reaction decked me it was so.............. wehhhh

Thank you so so so much for the translation, you're doing amazing work and I really love that the pages look to be traditionally scanned!! It adds a nice and cozy touch, kinda makes the story feel more personal somehow.

p.s. Forgot to mention the opening pages for this chapter are so beautiful and I adore the title as well.

Yes... Chapter 400 is coming out tomorrow... Gosh I can't wait. My girl Ameri is here.
The girl he's not dating yet interrupting a heist, which interrupted him getting back to his date with the people he is already dating, which he himself interrupted by answering his phone, which was already interrupted by Mephistopheles.

That manga is the shit

Yes. That's the whole arc summary in nutshell. I was more interested in seeing her scarla exam. I thought they would off-screen it. Iruma vs Ameri sounds like fun.

If anyone is entitled to a harem, it's the King
Lol. Let's see. The Japanese word for the Love Trio is really platonic. I think it's Shinyuu or something ig but I believe Nishi sensei writing so let's wait and see. Ch 400 was crazy. The colour page was so good. Also the chapter when Asmodeus and Iruma went to shop is probably the Gayest chapter I have ever read in something that doesn't have Shounen ai tag.

Well, they write "shinyuu" with katakana, so it's just a term.
I think
"Do you love me?" "We love you!" and the accompanying faces before and after, and SHARING A DRINK WITH A HEART IN IT (that café has a throuple's menu! Well, it's probably arbitrary numbers) adds layers.
Then there's the hand holding, the not wanting their date interrupted by Mephistopheles...
...and Clara covering them with hearts and kissing them.

Would he have the words to define what they have?

In the face of the massive amount of sporadic LGBT+ stuff happening, I don't think it's a stretch to call this a relationship.

Additionally, I'm 80% sure Azz is trans. The ring he gets from his mom is otherwise only given to girls who have gone through succubus trianing, his mom thinks he's studying seduction, he hates his bloodline magic (seduction) to the point that he started learning to use a different magic all by himself at a young age, gets dragged into the girls'/succubus group at the first battler festival and hates it, is terrified of anyone knowing the above... I find his mother increasingly frustrating.

On your next read of it (I'm deep into my 8th or 9th reread, and it holds up) keep these two ideas in mind, and these are set up pretty well.

8th or 9th reread is insane. I will keep it in mind while reading. I love the Queer theme sprinkled in the manga. This theory is interesting.

"Hates being called Alice-chan".

I also love that our main character just cross-dresses for fun sometimes, now. Throw on a dress and some glasses and hang out with friends almost as famous as he is.
Considering how psyched he was to do it a second time, I assume it's just how he spends some afternoons off.
He needs more wigs. At least one. Irumi is almost as famous as Iruma.

I thought about Alice being trans a whole day. It's starting to make sense actually.... I Think Irumi might be more famous than Iruma since the show was broadcasted all over the Netherland. I need Aruma crossing too now. Definitely I love the chapter when Iruma and Lead were spending their break like actual girls and our lesbians were struggling.

"I guess I could find some time next week..."
"🤩"
Azz tells his superior (by demon custom and law) to call him by a nickname, which is based on his FAMILY name, immediately.

Look back at the chapter where he is fighting Ifrit and has a flashback to when Iruma asks if fire is his bloodline magic.
That moment is so real it hurts every time I think about it.

You are making too much sense. Man I can't until Nishi sensei writes about Asmodeus secret.
