Though I've always had an attachment to just male koichi and yukio instead of kou-chan and yukio. I do gotta say that it's not that bad of an ending by itself and The true reason that motivated me to actually translate this series was because of that cliff hanging chapter 39 that never got updated!! I was already having the shock of my life for the sudden ts of kouichi which I never expected the author would do...But I never got the answer until I decided to translate it myself... Anyways! It kinda irks me that til the end, none of his friends take his worries over potentially being a girl seriously. Obvs there was a rush at the end and this is a comedy manga, so i didnt really expect this to be treated with the severity it deserves, but its just so icky as somone who knows alot of people with gender dysphoria and what struggles theyve gone through. I guess he was insensity to some of his friends feelings in the past so this is supposed to be some messed up form of karma? Idk, i cant really say that ive been a fan of the whole kou-chan arc.

If u want something like that, u can read Watashitachi wa Moto Joshi desu. It goes in depth with the real world struggles of something like this existing.

What a journey. It's been years. I also was so stuck on the lack of updates that I bought the physical versions lol. I started learning Japanese, though not that far in yet.

This is one of the manga, along with the one about the Saber Crossplayer with the French step brother, and magical girl incident at the time, that I bought and tried to power through despite no knowledge. I'm grateful someone like you came along to finally feed our starving selves.

Imma keep learning Japanese and Korean to be a goof and read comics I couldn't do more than just stared at with minimal context, and maybe one day I can do like you and give back to the community of starving readers.

What gets me is that they did already go into this topic kind of. There was like an entire arc about yukio and her insecurities and fears, which was resolved decently. I can only guess why koichis situation isnt treated the same. Like maybe there was an incoming axe and they had to rush through it, but i think it might just be that people who want to be men rather than women arent taken seriously. This somewhat reflects in the manga itself but there doesnt seem to be serious commentary about it and the message that comes accross is "isnt it weird how he wants to be a man" and Idk if thats what the author intended.

Like imagine being a trans man and reading this manga where everyone with this condition who wants to be a woman is accepted and supported and has a fan club and everyone thinks they are cool and then the one person who wants to be a man, all their friends and family tell them "wouldnt it be better if you stay a woman", "we like you better as a woman", "noone here supports you staying a man".
Not to even talk about them just forcing whatever feminine traits on them even when they are a girl.
