What, you don't think that having your girlfriend break up with you by saying that she's cheating with 3, guys then proceeding to completely ignore your existence for the next 3 or 4 years is just a youthful misunderstanding?

I'm sure it will make such a great memory. People really cherish being discarded and ignored by their loved ones, you know?
The dude more or less understood what was happening even back then, and he seems to have moved on. Maybe someday you can as well?

he understood so well that he got self ptsd as a coping mechanism, author really forced it with the flashback, without it we saw how the MC actually as you said started to move on (thanks to the swap thingie)

...I just don't get why they chose Kogahara to be the clear romance winner if the story arc was maturing repairing and fixing the relationship they used to have.
...but I am really glad that despite all the drama, they're approaching this a lot more maturely and letting bygones be bygones.

PTSD isn't a coping mechanism. I have no idea what you're even trying to say
There are some deranged readers of this series who seem to think that it's either reasonable or appropriate to carry a childhood hurt for the rest of your life without ever wondering if your childhood interpretation of events was accurate and without ever letting go of the hurt. Some people are addicted to their own misery.

the MC thought it was just rumors but as time passed he lied to himself as we got from the flashback, pretty much self traumatizing for Lemon four timing to try moving out, author even added here a girl that also made a rumor of him getting ED.

We got at the start of the series he was genuinely hurt by Lemon, but as the series progressed he started to move on as he befriended her once again. The flashback makes it so he knew from the break up it was just a rumor but as they didn't talk it out and with the passing of time he told to himself that what she said to him was true and that he actually was four timed.

not sure what are you on about, most of the comments on the other chapters are mad about the author with the flashback really making the trauma of Sunao a lot less to what it was presented at the start of the series (also making it for 3 months). It's not about them talking it out, as we got across the story Sunao healing or well, realizing it was a misunderstanding by himself, so the talk could still happen and both of them "forgiving each other", but the author choose to give us the flashback which lessened a lot of the problem from the start of the series.

I dunno if anyone else feels the same way, but doesn't Akiyoshi look kind of weird in some of the panels in this chapter? Like in the image of him on the last page, his face just doesn't look right. Like, his nose isn't right or something, and his eyes are too far down, &c.

It's teenagers. They read this and absolutely adore the idea of someone hurting them so bad they get to mope around well into their thirties. But well-adjusted people don't get hung up on silly high school drama. That's why Sunao moving on is so annoying to them, it takes away their victim fantasy.

I feel like that's why we've gotten so many "revenge" manga/anime in the last couple years about protags who are under appreciated or shunned, but were/become super OP all along. It really doesn't help people understand that every story has two (or more) sides to it and that they must always either be the undeserving victim or the vindicated winner.

That's not to say two sides means no one is ever at fault; just that maybe there are reasons for mistakes or supposed "transgressions" (again, not saying everything done wrong is a mistake; sometimes transgressions are actually just transgressions).

I completely agree. The whole "I was rejected by my party" genre that swallowed up all of isekai is victim fantasy through and through. People just love fantasizing about being hurt for some reason, maybe because it feels simpler to have an external cause for all your problems, saves you from uncomfortable introspection. Huge numbers of people got into this manga with that mindset (the author didn't help by baiting them with the three-timing) and now they're upset their fantasy is shattered.

Nice strawman argument against people who are just calling out fictional characters for being stupid rather than being straightforward.
