It'll be nice to get past the tourney and what I'll assume to be near-fatal attack on the king in the attempted yet ultimately unsuccessful coup. This is all speculation, but I am guessing there will be a heartfelt conversation between sisters while Camilla is imprisoned where Iris will explain that she hired MC to show the empire that lesser skills appointed by the god doesn't mean the person is worthless. They'll cry and hug, the other conspirators will be put to death. Then we can get to the other nations of the world that are aiming to seek revenge on the empire while the king is recuperating and Iris is the acting head of state which the MC will show the true power of the jobless.

Just basing this off the cliche writing so far, but still interesting. Just wish this current arc would end sooner than later. Tourneys and school arcs always feel to drawn out as just padding rather than adding substance.

Thanks for the quality TL work.

this is a contradiction.
the king was implemented as a ruler who isnt interested in background with meritocratic policies towards personnel.
yet the writing goes to pull class for succession?
that makes camilla lashing out at hypocrites. its the same situation with lythe and his brother.
self-induced sabotage from the ruler himself...
with that the whole open minded speech in chapter 23 about growth and development is just sheer humiliation on his older daughters case.
he should have told her that stuff himself.
and her mother? even worse to call criticism on an unreasonable system an embarassment.

Yeah that's why in one panel it seems like the king regrets something and that might be it.

I don't really get why the King let that happen when he clearly doesn't agree with it.

He's the King. Unless he's just a figurehead, what he says goes.

A FLASHBACK AT THE APEX OF A BATTLE. WHAT IS PACING?? WHAT IS MOMENTUM???

Right. Okay. That’s like, story writing 101 what NOT to do.

Anyways, I still enjoy this one, even though there are quite a few things that could be done better. Please don’t drop this if you can. It also gets a solid amount of traffic here.

Thanks for the translation!

Thanks for the translation.
I'm not one with a keen sense of what is good writing and what is not, but when I find myself reading something which makes me feel awkward, I simply stop reading. Which is not the case here.
I don't always spend time reading comments, so I don't know every argument given as to why this is bad, but here I can see that people are being emotional and are not giving proper thought to their complaints.

I always wonder how these evil fuckers get to just go around the private areas of the castle.

"And to your right you have the eldest princess's room. It's known to be very lightly guarded, especially when the princess is most vulnerable."

Not sure if it’s terrible parenting on the king s part. The queen is a straight up class supremicist obviously but it does seem like the king s hand was forced. That said, I get why she’d stab her dad in the back
The action of disowning her is not what I am calling terrible parenting. More specifically its the way in which he did so. Had he been a mildly compassionate human being or half decent parent he would go to his daughter and say "Hey look I love you and value you a lot but the rules are how they are. I wish I could change them but I can't." Instead the first she hears of it is as part of a massive public humiliation (which btw took place on a different day so he had plenty of time).

i got the vibe that he was forced to do it that way for some reason. He looked coerced in that scene.
