Throughout the story Ayaka was Yuuta's crutch to solve problems and they were insanely close. I can definitely understand someone who was okay with it at first but then started to catch doubts. Reina should have just bit the bullet and asked what was troubling him but she didn't and that was where she messed up because at some point seeing the message from Ayaka made her overthink and doubt and reach a breaking point. If Yuuta was having troubles he honestly should have gone to his girlfriend first why did he go to Ayaka in the first place? As you said yourself if it's not a big deal why not ask Reina?

Yes her thoughts which came from a place of self doubt and wondering if she can also understand Yuuta in how he sees himself with ayaka. Even at the start she didn't want to go through with it but as the chapter progressed her self doubts began to win and she made a bad decision which seems didn't go much farther than handholding before it ended anyway. Here is the thing reina doesn't see any body contact with Yuuta but we as the readers did. Ayaka was clearly insanely close to him that a lot of people could misunderstand its a point that's been said multiple times throughout the story. So what if they don't show any kind of "lovers" contact? Contact is contact and for some people any kind of contact can be too much considering some people even think handholding is too much.
And throwing a hyperbole of reina moving on to actually cheating instead of having a moment of self doubt is laughable.

And this is coming from someone who experienced both sides of this kind of conflict.

Real life is not black and white, but this story is. Reina was wrong, that's all there is to it. She acted wrong, she chose wrong, and there is nothing that can change that. I do like how you keep calling it Reina "making a mistake" while you go on holding Yuuta accountable for going to his friend for help, whom he'd known for far longer than Reina, to the point that they could almost finish each other's sentences (going off of past chapters from high school).

Ayaka is literally Yuuta's closest friend, more of a "ride or die" than anything given he was the one who befriended her when she was a cold loner in HS and stuck by her all that time to the present.
If he made the call that she would be a good bet to solving his issues, then logically it would make sense to do so. The fact that everyone around them just assumes one thing without outright asking Yuuta or Ayaka is just as much everyone else's problem as it is those two.

At the end of the day, if the LN is the way the manga is adapted, this is going to be a really poorly written next couple of chapters. Yuuta should at best forgive Reina, solely so he can say "okay goodbye, have a nice life" and proceed to stop interacting with both her and Natsuki for all the problems they've continued to cause him. No one is ever entirely blameless in life, which is why I won't say Yuuta was an innocent victim in all of this. But you're really going out of your way to say "Reina's not blameless but look how much of a victim she is, she made a mistake, she let her worries get the better of her, Yuuta did this and that", when all Reina had to do was say "hey, boyfriend, I said I was okay with it, but your relationship with Ayaka actually does worry me and I want to address that".

That's all it would take. Yuuta's shown before he was willing to talk with Reina when she came to him with stuff, and she...chose to go to Natsuki, who didn't know Yuuta from Adam, and then be persuaded by her horndog kouhai who just wanted to sleep with her into cheating on Yuuta with him. Just because she didn't immediately go to a love hotel with that guy, doesn't mean she wasn't caught in a compromising situation in front of Yuuta, on the day of their one-year anniversary/make-up date.

Yuuta's an idiot. That's because he's the MC of a romcom manga. It's a given, that's how they're all written with little exception. But Reina's absolutely the one who made this happen with her inability to talk to and trust her boyfriend, and I'm sad that she likely won't continue reaping the consequences of her decisions back then.

No disrespect, but I honestly find it ridiculous that people are still trying to blame Yuuta for Reina’s actions. He did ask her upfront if texting a female friend would be too much, if it crossed any lines. She said no. From Yuuta’s perspective, he was doing the right thing, trying to establish boundaries and understand what she was comfortable with.

If she later developed an inferiority complex or got jealous of Ayaka, that’s on her to bring up. You can’t blame Yuuta for not noticing something she actively hid. When they were together, she pretended everything was fine. It wasn’t until that date, when she suddenly blew up and demanded space, that he even realized something was wrong.

How is it his fault for her silence? Not once did she try to confide in him, not once did she open up, yet somehow she expected him to be emotionally vulnerable with her. Be real.

At the end of the day, she was looking for emotional validation elsewhere. The saddest part is this whole situation could’ve been resolved, or at least brought to the surface, if she had just chosen to talk to him. Maybe that conversation would’ve made them stronger, maybe it would’ve ended things... we’ll never know, because she never gave him that chance.

And let’s not forget, Yuuta leaned on Ayaka, yes, but Reina did the same thing when she went and got bad advice from Natsuki. So if you’re looking for accountability, this is on Reina.

The only thing you could say Yuuta did wrong was not being more observant, but that’s not a good enough reason to excuse her actions, and it sure as hell doesn’t justify cheating.

I was referring to when he asked if she was fine with him continuing to text and hang out with Ayaka, and offered to limit that if Reina wasn't comfortable with it -- prior to him seeing her with Glasses on their one-year and subsequently breaking up with her.

Yuuta was down to be open to Reina about his friendship with Ayaka, tried to get them to hang out so that Reina wouldn't feel threatened by a person who was important to him, and Reina just said "it's fine" and then continued to stay silent when it wasn't.
Yuuta, like everyone ever, could probably have been more observant to Reina's moods, but he's not a mind reader. If she's not gonna say anything about what's bothering her, after saying that she wasn't bothered, then that's not really on him, and I'm still confused as to why you continue to make it sound like Yuuta's at fault for not having telepathy.

Also - the whole "he went to Ayaka and not Reina for his problem" thing?
That was involving stuff at his university, which Reina didn't go to. Ayaka was clearly the better choice to actually help him resolve things. Yes, he could have said something to Reina about why he seemed stressed and needed to spend time working on stuff, but that's about the only thing he did wrong. And when she saw the texts from Ayaka after the fact, Yuuta still said "I'm happy to stop doing that if it bothers you" and she still just went radio silent over it.
That's the gist of why people are saying Reina's the one who really fucked up here. She had every opportunity to speak her mind and clear the air with Yuuta, and she just....didn't. Instead she went to Natsuki, who for whatever reason decided to jump to "oh yeah that dude I've never met is cheating on you with that woman I've never met".
And then she let herself be talked into considering cheating on Yuuta, one their one-year, by Glasses who, ironically, said "I'd never cheat on you! Now cheat on your boyfriend with me!"
Every step of the way, Reina made the wrong decision, the doubled down, and then turned around and came chasing after Yuuta 3 months later, and then when confronted about it, said

"actually I didn't cheat", and proceeded to explain how she cheated.

Reina has no justification trying to worm her way back into Yuuta's life. And I'm disappointed that he'll likely bend over for her all over again in the near future.
