Not gonna lie, seeing Kotaro light up at the end was very heartwarming. Its as much as unintentional bullying as you can get from these three  , but it really homes in on how much of an important component they are to his life.

This series is just as bad as Gals Can't Be Kind to Otaku; it'll be ridiculously hard to choose just one of the three girls. Outside the "bully" premise(which I don't mind, but can be seen as a detriment), they are all wonderful girls, have varied personalities, each have a good amount of individual screen time and development, and are good friends with each other, despite their affections. Yeah, there's Sumika, but its hard to see where she'll land, even though she plays Kotaro's beloved vtuber.

Sumika is STILL the winner (in my mind), not even close. But with an M that gets off from being bullied she can't win unless she ups her S game. You like what you like and kink shaming is a no-no so ... Sumika should buy some rope and a whip. That last part was sponsored by Mr. Gutter Brain ... He's into that shit, sigh.

It's truly unfortunate that Sumika is Kotaro's vtuber Oshi, because she probably doesn't have a chance. Though the fact there's three of them, and I choose to believe that "Harem!" is not going to be the author's answer, does mean that a dark horse might have an outsized chance.

Though, since it would seem the being a Bullying Punching Bag is baked into Kotaro's DNA since his mom confessed she was worse to his dad than these three are to Kotaro, maybe one of these three will actually take the win. And that way they can perpetuate that cycle of "totally not abuse in the name of love"

What makes you think the author won't go the harem route? Are you assuming based on the author's past works, or just the tempo of the story in general? Its hard to see anyone but these three taking the crown, but you make a good point; the Shuffle! anime comes to mind.

Though I said what I said, in the back of my mind, it feels like Akira still has a leg-up on Kanae and Shigure because she's the only one who has had a 121 with Kotaro's mom.

I didn't realize that part deleted when I was proofreading my comment -

I just personally never assume "Harem" because I think it's a truly lazy answer ~97% percent of the time in romance manga.
I'd prefer the work be put in to make a clear winner if there's multiple romance interests for the protagonist, because (in my admittedly singular experience) the author saying "and they all loved MC together!" is a result of either subpar writing in being unable to make one romance option actually stand out from the others over the course of the story, or kowtowing to the fan base who demand "their pick not lose".

So if it's gonna be one of the three, then I just hope it's one of the three, who clearly does something to differentiate herself and prove she's the one Kotaro should pick. Again--just my personal preference when it comes to manga in general, and I realize I will likely not see that come to pass here.

And by that logic, Akira would technically meet that requirement, having met Kotaro's mom.

I wonder if maybe instead of an harem the author will make a route for each girl. The question then would become how many routes there will be...this chapter made me more convinced that Sumika's chances are very slim, but who knows.

The more I think about it, the more I kinda think Sumika's chances are sunk -- mostly because of who her alter ego is, and what that means to Kotaro.

He's put her persona on such a high pedestal that dating the "girl behind his Oshi" would probably break his brain and I worry he might see it as an injustice toward his ideal of her as an idol or something. Like "can't date her because that'd ruin her purity of image" or something like that.

Who knows, I could be wrong, and maybe it'd make her an autolock for his affections. But I kinda low key worry for her, because of that specific context.

That honestly feels like a whole lot of extra writing that might be better served as extra content, rather than the main story. I'm not immediately certain how you'd make it all canon without something like multiverse/timeline shenanigans, and that would be too far out of left field when this has been a very grounded, realistic title up to this point in terms of science fiction/fantasy stuff.

It's doable, but it feels more like Fanbox/Pixiv type content, to me.
