yea, there are lots of kings that kill his own family members just to secure peace to avoid civil war and protect their nation against enemy. someone that wants to keep their hands clean doesn't deserve to be Ruler.

if your own family that causes the instability and chaos of your nation, then you need to cut them up, just like other people. A Ruler must put his nation first before family.
