I think it because you can't lie to Great Spirit. (There're basically walking lie detector.) Even little malice not even pass them. So to become Great Spirit. Your soul must be purest form possible. And every Great Spirit knew that.Rare W where the protagonist decisively goes "I won't exist under the same sky" as the obvious bad guys.
That said it feels like a cop out that these other Great Spirits are willing to help out because of Nagi. The only other Great Spirit he's met is Formus the Great Darkness Spirit so it feels weird that the other Great Spirits are only willing to help out because of Nagi, not Formus the one they actually know. Especially since Nagi is taking a very active leading role which should really be handled by his contractor. Nagi's also a fledgling Great Spirit who as far as we have seen has not been handling their duty as a Great Spirit from what I can tell. Why do they trust him, even if he is a fellow Great Spirit?
Even Formus is doing it just because Nagi is involved. Nagi is the lynchpin of everything. They wouldn't be willing to aid the mortal races if it weren't for Nagi. Also, as Killerkubskn said, Great Spirits are pure, and cannot lie, nor be lied to successfully. It doesn't matter that he's newborn, he's a Great Spirit, end of story.Rare W where the protagonist decisively goes "I won't exist under the same sky" as the obvious bad guys.

I assume it's just within their nature. They fully trust each other, despite seemingly being quite isolationist and individualist to the point that they don't really (seem) to interact. So regardless of his 'newborn' status, Nagi said the situation is dire and they should act, and so the Spirits agreed to.That said it feels like a cop out that these other Great Spirits are willing to help out because of Nagi....
I don't know why this came up. Whether a Great Spirit can lie or be lied to doesn't matter. It's not really a matter of lying. If you tell me that we need to do X and that's the wrong thing to do that doesn't necessarily mean you've lied to me. That just means your judgement at the time was wrong.Even Formus is doing it just because Nagi is involved. Nagi is the lynchpin of everything. They wouldn't be willing to aid the mortal races if it weren't for Nagi. Also, as Killerkubskn said, Great Spirits are pure, and cannot lie, nor be lied to successfully. Because of the first half of what you said? It's not about whether something is right or wrong to do in the moment; that's not a lie. You can be mistaken while being truthful. Lying is something else entirely.I don't know why this came up. Whether a Great Spirit can lie or be lied to doesn't matter. It's not really a matter of lying. If you tell me that we need to do X and that's the wrong thing to do that doesn't necessarily mean you've lied to me. That just means your judgement at the time was wrong.
As for the Great Spirits trusting his judgement, that falls under the second thing I said, which was addressing that separately- Great Spirits are pure, and cannot lie, nor be lied to successfully. It doesn't matter that he's newborn, he's a Great Spirit, end of story. So, anything told to him or any other Great Spirit they immediately know is a lie or not, and any communication from him or any other Great Spirit is similarly always going to be truthful, because they cannot lie themselves. His being a newborn Great Spirit doesn't matter, because he is a Great Spirit, period. That essence of being is what matters, not how long he's existed. He decided that they need help, so they trust that their help is actually needed. They are implicitly just trusting his judgment of the situation is correct or at least worth following. Why? Formus has met Nagi like once. What in their interactions breeds this level of trust for his decision making? If all the great spirits already knew about this corrupt spirit stuff then it would make sense that they think this is important like Nagi does. That also means they decided not to communicate it to Nagi since he only found out in this chapter, either the other spirits assumed he knew or would find out shortly.
You're used to the kind of spirit that is basically just a high elemental, rather than the spirit that exists in all things type; these Great Spirits are more aligned to the Mana from the Seiken Densetsu series. That said, things are dire, as shown by the Great Spirit of Water asking for their help. It's not bad that the Great Spirits are this harmonious, but it's just unusual based on other existing literature. Great Spirits are usually very reluctant to meddle in the world, even at the request of other Great Spirits, unless things are dire, they have a contractor, or a Spirit King is involved.
