gacha games focus on a loot box mechanic, you grind currency to gamble on cosmetics and other types of items

generally they're mobile, but a lot of games include gacha mechanics even if its less of a focus

Actually a real life thing. Japanese companies have a hard time legally firing people, so they stick workers in a room with nothing to do in hopes they'll quit because of their pride. It's my dream job.

Well, I can tell you that thankfully the Japanese company that I work for doesn't have that.

No, yeah, I know that term (thanks for the explanation, though). I just didn't know if the game they were making, which they referred to as a "social game" was a type of gacha game itself.
