I have found this to be good and enjoyable. Generally, nice things happen with some drama to keep things interesting. That's welcome.

That said, the reviews on novelupdates are just savage. I also completely understand what those reviews are complaining about. Though I think that the great artwork and presentation of the manga greatly reduce the problems inherent from the source.

...

The MC strikes an odd balance. He's not strong, but he's not weak. He's not proactive, but he's not totally passive either. He's not oblivious to affection, and he has his own affection. The women around him are strong, but not dominating (so he's not a beta). He does grow over the course of the story.

He's the ultimate 'Safe Guy' for strong women.

Story is really spinning its wheels right now. It's why I'm never a huge fan of when authors try to write inhumanely intelligent characters ("No-face" in this case), because it comes across unconvincing unless you're a very gifted writer.

I wish they'd focus on developing the slice of life angles. They were doing far better with that, imo.

Unfortunately, the protagonist comes across dull when he's thrust into these more dramatic scenarios, and then doesn't have any independent ability to resolve them. He's good at yapping, but he's not even fully emotionally committed to remaining in the world. It makes a lot of these plot points feel... off.

Careful now, the author is a hard-core lolicon. There is a TON of heroines in this story and about 98% of them have tiny flat chests or look like kids. Other than that, it's a real nice and peaceful story. It's no power fantasy, the Mc is weak as a slime, but cool stuff does happen frequently.

I won't deny that a lot of them are short with small chests, but I highly disagree that these designs are "hardcore" lolicon territory.

98% look like kids?? No shot lmao, that's a pretty wild take.

The only one I'd agree that feels like a lean into a loli design is the death princess, but even then it's not really egregious and has more to do with her character writing rather than design, imo.

In my mind, having a preference for small chests makes you a lolicon. It's not correct, but it's how I feel. I meant to say that most of them are flat regardless of height and the rest look like kids. There's Kuro, Isis, the mermaid queen, an elf sage, Eden's avatar etc
