Moral of the story; the higher ups are a bunch of cowards and deserve all of the flak they get for their incredibly idiotic choices. Jizzmates was funny, sure, but let the author cook you bunch of honorless pigs! Also, the mermaid curse continues to be funny.

To be fair, the higher ups have every reason to be scared. Japanese copyright laws have no legal provisions for parodies. So there is a real risk that if the IP holder (Nintendo) finds out and dislikes what they are doing, they can sue everyone into oblivion.
