Silver as anti monster is based on real life myths and legends. It started when ancients discover that silver helped with the healing process thus they consider it holy or sacred and used it in their religious ceremony. Monsters are unholy so they think holy things kill them. They believe diseases are caused by evil unholy thing and they notice silver help cure or heal them.

Of course this association has some bad effect as since mercury look like silver at first glance they thought it is the same.

Because it is not her domain, it is those muscle bros domain and she might not want them anymore advantage (they already give Sui Mythril forging skill. )
