yes. All the girls are the counterpart of irl racing horses and their records (name and everything). What's happened here has happened in irl. So they can't fuck around and invent things.

This is the real race, Uma Musume is more dramatised of course but basically Oguri Cap took the lead mid-race, despite being in the inner side was overrun by Super Creek and in the last meters Inari One put himself first after ramping up (two versions of the same race):

well in the Beginning of a New Era, they used Hopeful Stakes and gave Tachyon her first G1 there when in reality that race was still G3 race called Radio Tampa Hai Nisai Stakes.
