I feel like this could be a good thing for the MC in some ways. There's no doubt this mother-daughter duo will ruin his life in the future. If there's some fool who would willing take them away, it'll be good for the MC in the long term...

But we all know this will fail, and the mom-daughter will have their way.

Bro, why on her left ring finger?
Because part of the mother/daughter duo goal is for "Papa" to fucks the daughter, so she can give birth to the original papa (Most likely).

Oooooh, now I understand: they are black widows.
They pick up guys, isolate them, drain them of everything they can give, ruining their lives, then they dump them and move on to the next victim.

As far as we know, no, they want to find someone that will fuck the daughter. This one wouldn't, so they left him behind to find a new target. We don't know what they will do to the MC once he fucks the daughter, but their goal is clear, and here it's the guy's fault for not being papa anymore, because he made the right choice. But now he's broken.

I didn't have the resolve to become Papa
If you take this statement on its own, its sounds like he was able to slip from their snare and attempt to move on(which obviously failed since he came back). But knowing the Mom and Touko, they utterly ruined him, his relationships(friendly, professional and familial), his future prospects, isolated him from those who care about him, and ultimately mindbroke him as they further ensnared him as their prey, and with nothing left he's come back so that the destruction of his life wasn't without meaning.
