I am reminded of Cercei and Joffrey.

Anyhow, ransom is quite era appropriate, or in this case, getting a 'hook' in Crusader Kings III terms, for the release.

Thanks for the chapter.

My bet is he wanted to be disinherited and get out from the castle altogehter?. . . but he also asked for his brother not come again. Meaning, he still wanted to stay.

Well, whatever his 3rd wish is.

considering the king, would he even granted anything that make his live easier?

What will he ask for? Adoption? Will he ask the empress to adopt him as her child?
I read the novel translations a long time ago and I honestly forget. But no it's not adoption.

He's going to ask to meet up with his elder brother. Basically he wants to ally himself to one of the elder brothers who's in the running for the throne while also signifying that he has no interest for the throne. Ultimately, it's a shared win/win agreement.
As for the adoption, he already has someone who is intent on adopting him which will solve a lot of his problems, though it is funny to think about who's adopting him because effectively it means he'll be marrying his sister based on that adoption. At least if my memories are still correct. So he becomes both his son and son in law. If I recall correctly.

Here's the chapter in question of the novel if you want to start reading ahead.

And of course the Novelupdate link itself.

The Japanese view adoption really differently from how we Westerners do. Without getting into the details -- there are literal books on it -- there's a long tradition in Japan of adopting boys specifically for that purpose.

And here I am trying hard to avoid spoilers... well it's good that it wasn't really a major spoiler... just about some intentions...

That's not as dissimilar to how adoption used to work in the west too, it's just as the aristocracy has withered along with the rise of republics it just isn't necessary to view inheritance in that way anymore. Hell Julius Caesar adopted his adult nephew posthumously in order to legitimise him as his heir.
