FUUUUUKN LAAAAAAAME!!! Since when did her character, a life long assassin, become a little whiny bitch that can barely fight?!?!? Wtf did I just read? That was so out of character and waaaaay too dramatized. This was just dumb, author forced bullshit.
In exactly which part for the entire story so far have you seen her or any human fighting monsters? I’m sure the average reader can match power levels in a given series properly.

This is not the usual isekai where she blasts Dark Magic and shadow jumps willy nilly like a Level 99 Assassin.

I still don't understand why people jump back first to block things. Wouldn't it be easier to block if they had their side with the weapon facing the enemy?

I went through the pages a few times...
  • There are multiple monsters on the field
  • Serena and Tigur are fighting one giant bear monster
  • They are not equipped/trained to defeat large monsters (neither can one knight who specialize again monsters)
  • Tigur can beat regular monsters though but not giant monsters
  • Tigur can fight
  • Serena is trying to protect the other girl so all 3 cant escape easily
  • Bear monster blinded from knife and feather
  • Bear monster got lucky with it swipe
I appreciate the attempt, but it was more just a rhetorical statement about the quality of the pacing and flow of the fight. Obviously you can figure it out if you look at it enough. Doesn't make it good though.

One thing for sure though. Mangaka can't draw action (well this is a shoujo but still)

maybe it's because this seasons' anime roster has been filled with isekai power trips, so for me this was a welcome twist.

Assassin's aren't necessarily expert fighters. They sneak in, get the target unprepared and alone, and then strike and kill them swiftly and efficiently. But this is an entire army of monsters.
I agree... but, that wasn't the issue I pointed out. It was the mentality she displayed, altogether. She has already been hardened because of the amount of death she's seen/caused, but that's not what we saw from her. Complete fear and loss of bearing, that's what we saw, and that's very against her characterbuild, nothing more, nothing less.

It actually was. your exact quote was about how she was whiny and could barely fight. Her character has slowly been developing over time, and her fighting skills are like i said regarding assassins. specialized and not meant for fighting entire armies of monsters. Nevermind that she's also trying to protect people which even she herself can't figure out why she is doing (see the aforementioned character development i mentioned earlier). I should also mention, that even despite being out of her element and overpowered, she still managed to blind the monster attacking her with a knife and a god damn feather. She's still top of her game fighting wise.

You people pay to much attention to small things, you should instead pay more attention to Scarlet! Tsundere doing her best despite not being used to violence at all, easily the best moment of this chapter.

Edit: Whoa, Nelly! I'm not talking about her style of fighting, bcuz, yes, as an assassin, this is a little out of her element. I'm solely talking about her bearing and movements. The bearing, her fear and inability to move forward here, is waaay off the mark from the hardened, "if I die, oh well" mentality that she has displayed since chapter 1. She can't even get her footing, ffs. As a hardened assassin she has already steeled her own thoughts of death, up until this chapter, anyway. Also, assassins don't kill in just one way. They kill in the way that they have to, within the allotted time they have been given. You can't catch people off guard 100% of the time. Not every kill is when they're unguarded and asleep and in the dark. Sometimes you have to attack a well secured carriage in broad daylight, because it's the only option available in the time you've been given. My whole comment is about her inability to think on her feet and the fear that's running through her, nothing more, nothing less.
saw you edited this so ill respond. Her not being able to handle combat was established in chapter 1 my dude. she ended up failing an ambush against a target and died to the royal guard... who might now be the prince? (unsure on that one) she isn't spectacular at combat, never has been.

kinda amazed you took precious time out to argue with some nooblets tbh. but always appreciated when the occasional person is using some brain cells
