Shagard is actually talented and trained a bit before his nightly boot camp with Serena and Tigurd. As Serena noted in this chapter, page 3 (in case you missed it).
To summarize, Shagard was never exposed to fighting dirty, himself lacking confidence, and not maxing his physical potential (eating well and pumping iron consistently for example). We'll find out more in the upcoming chapters and what it all means though :sneaky:.
The manga skipped a few details,

but the training went on for weeks in the LN, giving him enough self-reflection and experience to confidently and competently fight in the next chapter - with more to come as a consequence of it.

But look forward to what will be coming, I don't want to spoil the plot and results just because I read the official english LNs. ;)
Thanks for the added detail. Guess things just can get lost in adaptation, wouldnt have thought it went for weeks just by seeing how the panels were drawn, and I dont think they specifically mention the duration in a dialogue here.

Shagard is going to break, and it will be glorious. Not the bad kind of break though; the kind that (hopefully) will let him just air out his worries so he can improve. I'm rooting for this guy to win against his lesser siblings.

Tigur is the only one who should "win" Serena though, true facts.
The Awakening route. Like from tomo is a girl manga when junichirou started to change. It was slow but funny.

Less "break" and more snap. He's gonna reach a point where he can't hold back against the bullshit and slam him into the ground, almost killing him

I dont think 3 days of training would improve him that much, but I'm looking forward to it.
The manga the time frame is vague.

To add to the other explanation. As royalty, Shagard does get training for self defence. For example, in first arc, Evan and Einrich also had martial art training.
Serena commented on how he fight like a knight, because usually they get knights as instructor. Same case as in most royalty/nobility MC isekai stories (although some skip it and think it’s cooler to be trained by their ex-assassin butler).

Shagard’s problem is mental. He doesn’t see the point in trying to fight back because of doubting his self worth. His father ignore him, his mother left him, and the siblings keep pointing that out.
