Ngl I think i prefer an ambiguous ending rather than an ending where he's rushed to pick one
yeah, they were middle schooler, not a high schooler. they not ready yet for teenager love drama. Better let their friendship pure. actually it quite rare for Middle school romance that really focus on relationship. even Takagi-san is more teasing than drama.

Welp, that was kind of a nothingburger ending...but I guess I shouldn't have expected anything since thry're still middle schoolers.

Still...I feel kinda let down

Oh well, i'll just have to stick to high school and adult romance mangas from now on

It ended, without a conclusion. You might as well had them say, “Our story is just beginning.” And once again Miyahara is not shown to have any feelings for our boy, so her having any chance at winning feels completely unearne. I have seen some manga start off good then deteriorate (Meguro-san wa Hajimete ja Nai and Juujika no Rokunin) and some have no proper conclusion (looking at you Himitsu no Akuma-chan). But this still had promise up until the ending that was so bad that if I had to rate the series before this it’d be 10 and know I wish I could put negative numbers I’m that pissed. Actually fuck you.

Of course it's a non-ending.... everyone saw it coming, but it still doesn't make it any better.

Yet we had peak like SukiMega and an ongoing classic like BokuYaba. (To say nothing of what the author here is doing in the more successful title of the two.) It's far from impossible. Heck, Jijou wo Shiranai Tenkousei ga Guigui Kuru proves it's possible even in a grade-school setting.

but let be honest here, how many relationship stay like that until adult and married for it?
there is a reason why childhood friends always lose because the amount time you spend together eventually keep decreasing as you grown up.
not to mention your world get bigger as you meet more people and exploring different options.
there is a reason why long distance relationship quite hard to maintain.
that why most romance happen in high school as it was closest ages before adulthood and marriagable ages. you graduate, going collages for few years and got a job then marriage.
