That is what I'm really hoping. I like the "double unrequited love" angle they've got going (at least from Shouko's angle; Yukari's just ....unnamed love).
But I do not want this to be a doomed yuri, or a drawn-out pining. Gimme the good relationship stuff like Maki & Umi.

the more I look at the cover, the more I love Shouko.
I do like that, at least as far as these first three chapters go, she immediately seems to have opened up in front of Yukari in a way she doesn't seem to do in front of her other friends.

They might not be super close just yet, but she already feels safe enough to let down the walls a little and be a little more genuine and authentic.

I'm rooting for you, Yukari.

I like how she seems to be feeling guilty about having a crush on her. Stuff like this is what most yuri manga is missing. They just kind of fall flat, usually, without any of the tension inherent in a relationship where only one side is even considering the possibility of the possibility of a relationship.

Most manga, it just feels like the author's forgotten that people usually assume each other to be straight unless told otherwise. And that applies to BL, too. (Maybe even more so, actually?) Like, yeah, a world where being not-straight is totally normal's neat, but it doesn't make for a good story, especially when your story is banking on people reading it for the not-straight relationships.

So, yeah, I hope it continues like this.

Yukari did super well in the bookstore. Recommending people things, let alone your unrequited crush, is a dangerous business. And she was great at it. And Shouko‘s reaction was super positive! I’m less interested in how quickly they become a couple and more interested in how long it takes for Yukari to realise that Shouko is crushing on her cousin, not the popular guy. That’s when things are gonna start to really cook and the wait is agonising!

This might be wishful thinking, but I think there's a decent chance they're both in the same situation (in love with one another but already acting like they were rejected).

Yukari, for the reasons we already know: girl got no self-esteem. Shouko, for other reasons, maybe because she doesn't think Yukari is gay.

I have nothing to back this up, it's just a guess.
