You forget that, only a few people know about the truth regarding what happened and that Harold is innocent.

To everyone else, Harold is a Traitor to the Kingdom, and is a State Criminal on Death Row.

So, of course the Prince, who claims to be Itsuki's friend would try to interfere thinking that Harold is tricking Itsuki and his sister.
