One of the problems with this kind of “suffering drama” type story is that it’s all stick and no carrot. There is not a scene in this manga that isn’t laced with poison, to the point that I don’t really care what happens as long as it does something. You need to see the light at least a little bit, you know? Even when he was talking about how his wife gives him lunch it felt like he was pulling teeth

Why is everyone tryin to so hard to find some sort of dark meaning to this fluffy, comfy 'found family' SoL manga?
"Oh they're trying to trick him into boning Touka". Name one thing, ONE THING, that is remotely sus in this chapter. Mom is going to the hospital for a checkup. Dad is picking his step daughter up from the station.
Touka is scared she might lose her father figure if her mom can't get pregnant, and she's reassured, and told she can rely on her papa, that she shouldn't ever think about being a bother, with headpats to boot.

But you twisted people see all this wholesome family bonding and immediately go to the darkest interpretations ever.
How do you even function in life? Please, get help.

The plot twist would be he running from them, but the damage and manipulation are done on him.

Imagine if they do have a baby but somehow both the women die in a childbirth/after soon after and he's stuck as a single father

Considering it seems they have been targeting easily manipulated guys that I wouldn't be surprised that the mom groomed daughter for this plan and she's simply crazy and came up with this plan out of desperation to get back the husband

Also wouldn't be surprised if the dead husband got with her while she was a minor

I think touko's biodad was prolly the wife's own stepfather too if not just an older man but i think she mentioned she was like around 20? when she had her but she might've been dating for years before that

Needs context, Miyako talk that touko would looks like her father if she was male,. the weird child talk and them the offering,that's on east Asian culture for dead relatives

If this was a horror genre, I'd like to think the mother and daughter is trying to reincarnate the dead father in the form of a child that the mc and the daughter would conceive. It's the same concept I've read on a horror/cult novel very long time ago(in that one, mom died and blood related father+daughter did the deed to in the belief that they will reincarnate the mom), I can't remember the title.
