True enough, could be a fox hitomodoki! Though since he knows about modified (?) natto 'fixing' it he'd have to have a real good reason not to go full fox, especially since (okay, biased) I would do it in a second.

Also, went back and looked at 1st chapter and it never says the humans died out, just that they were 'once common' and leaves it at that. So basically this is a big 🤷‍♂️. Oh well, I've had way worse complaints for end of a series.

Yeah, it would make no sense for Mama and Papa to be lovey dovey at all right now when they just met and we can tell that's inevitable anyhow. Better to stuff gremlin faces!
