Any indication you can give us as to whether various criteria will be used to target ads (reading languages drive ad languages, having porn mature whole enchilada content enabled shows 18+ ads, etc.)?

There's not much info right now about it, so I can't answer this question currently. Whenever I get more info about it from management I'll send an update.

It's not like i don't like ads. I fine with them.
Home page, Chapters, forums... But not on reader.
As long It's on reader and popup. I fine with them staying entirely.

Also if there was options to enable for supporters. Can i participate?

Yeah, supporters (and basically any role that's excluded by default) can opt in for ads (damn, I never thought I'd see something like that tbf )
For that, you need to go to the supporter settings and enable the ads manually (ignore the typo for the option description, it'll be fixed soon).

Ehh, Opera GX is a bit of a scam, but as scams go, it's really benign. I'd say stuff like that is a pretty good choice for an advertiser. Moreover, a site vetting ads for the content, instead of a site vetting content for advertisers is an unfortunately fresh breeze of air and you've got my inconsequential but heartfelt gratitude for it. in other news, my hatred for Youtube keeps growing.

If you're worried about advertisements, download ublock origin and right click the add and then select the Block element... button. Easy peasy.

Unless they plan on using the ad revenue to fight DMCAs, this will make MangaDex worse than the aggregator sites who at least manage to keep all their content online in exchange for bombarding us with ads.

Size seems a mite large at 1920x1080 (particularly height-wise), especially on the title pages. 2560x1440 isn't as bad.

No actual ad showing on mobile yet - will be interested how it looks there when it shows up.

Like others said the info we normal users get have been all over the place. First MD is completely ok? Now it’s broke? Where is the transparency into where the money is going. I would consider donating in the past but I don’t feel comfortable with it going into the void only for this flip flopping. If you would at minimum give donators a brief overview of income and expenses that would be greatly appreciated

I really loved Mangadex V3.
There where a lot of manga, a lively community and Mangadex itself just felt like a good nest to rest my wings.

Because I saw value back then, I made donations. I made donations that seemed reasonable and that I could afford.

Mangadex is a platform that aggregates managas.

When Mangadex V3 closed, I switched to reading manga from the scanlators directly. When V5 came around, a considerable amount of manga, I read, where not available on Mangadex.

Now, many many mangas are taken down, there exists a very expensive subscription and soon ads are being shown.

Are 5$/month reasonable?!

Moreover the promise with Mangadex always was, to also act as a tracker, a place where you can see the progress you made with the mangas you read.
In V3 I could enter the chapter I was on, even if chapters weren't in Mangadex.
This was removed from V5!
There is no way to export my library!
My progress from V3 is gone!

Mangadex lived on community donations and I thought that was very ethical. I understand, that mangadex cannot continue like this,

but I do feel betrayed
