It's the official publisher you silly. Mangadex is trying to "go legit" by erasing fan scanlations and adding ads (in other words, going against the website's very foundations). Use aggregators, pay MangaPlus or pirate them, the choice is yours.

mangadex never try to go legit. most of staff them self are active fan scanlation. they just got hit by DMCA. as of the recent mangaplus bot went awry, it was because mangaplus changed their API. all app that use them had it. (my mangaplus extension on mihon was also broken for a week before update). as simple as that.

The artist for To Love Ru is doing this series alone.

And this part is just my opinion, but Ayakashi Triangle is about even with Darkness. Not sure why you don't like it.

Not even a word about the ad situation either (yet another example of the total lack of financial transparency despite begging for donations all year long), said ads being an undeniable proof of MD upper management wanting to go legit. Just look at the "Advertise" tab, it's pathetic.

The "true" mangadex died when the v5 rewrite happened. What's left is a sad hollow imitation lacking both in UI (v3 was better-looking) and content (still no embed comments after 4 years ?...). And it's crumbling day after day it seems.

The triangle really had potential. But Yabuki seemed to have lost track of where he wanted to take it at some point and simply turned the story into a meaningless slice of life that provided ecchi fodder stuck in limbo. Unsurprisingly, he ultimately closed it all with an axed, semi-open ending. But at least it wasn't the same disaster as Oshi no Ko, where the author actually had an idea of the desired ending, but had long since lost the (reasonable) opportunity to achieve it.

it's mostly because lack of anyway to fund. it has been stated since beginning. they are not gonna going legit. some of staff is well know lolicon manga translator. they are gonna get arrested regardless if their identity out, for example went legit. maybe mangadex going to be shittier due to lax of funds and getting more exposure, but there are no basis they are going legit, considering half of top brass literally doing much more questionable stuff than mangadex. and went legit would literally risk expose that. that's like accusing nyaa.si going legit for abandoned some of their content. dude, they are just barely maintain their site existence.

and about even is the reason why there's no need to go with this series instead of just keep continuing Darkness. And by "shit" I didn't mean it as trash, meant it as "thing".

they are EU based. even then, yes you can get arrested. maybe not gonna land you long jail time, but good luck try to convince police that your 17+ hitori bocchi no maru maru seikatatsu doujinshi is not illegal. funfact, this is their last doujinshi release. they are mostly doing anime/vn TL now (with similar content). yeah. good fucking luck dude. this site are not gonna survive if they dare to go legit with content like this. if their beloved lolicon stash in this site started to disappear, only then i started to believe this site going legit. otherwise no.
