Think they meant the cleanup of the campfire rather than the existence of a campfire itself. Tho yea, that's also not exactly some super complex skill
If you guys ever went camping youll know its hard to hide traces of ashes, soot and smoke. Smoke alone will leave a dark tar on the surroundings and you can still smell it a day later which is to say nothing of ashes and charcoals that will be left behind. If the wood used as kindling and fuel has a lot of resin it will burn easily but also leaves more soot and smoke compared to dry leaves or twigs
Also based on my experience if you make campfire, put it out, come back a week later, the traces would still be there

Theyre talking about how well they hid their tracks or erased evidence of there being a campfire, not that making a campfire is too difficult, the difficulty comes from making it seem like there wasnt one in the first place

Yeah, i got it, but my point was mostly about that they didn't say enough. It goes like that "Look, we found evidence of the camp. Probably from the bandits, but it seems too clever for them". No mention about it being concealed, we are supposed to get that info from the visual interpretation, which is also very lacking and full of uncertainties (depending on author, they might even skip it altogether)

I decided to write a comment about it exactly because they found a huge kindling. Ashes, soot, smell - all that fair enough. But getting rid of everything so minuscule and doing all the hard work of professional spies, only to leave out a kindling with a size of a fist? Might as well "forget" a bag with supplies at the campsite. Sounds so unreasonable that at this point i'm ready to believe that remains of the camp weren't concealed, but just author not caring to draw them properly thinking that "it wasn't important anyway".

Cmon, it's a HUGE kindling. How can they leave that, if they are specifically concealing their presence?

gawd the amount of stuff that was removed or glossed over in the anime version is crazy I'll never stop being mad about it lmao
Many previous comments have said that it's more like it's the manga adaptation adding way more detail compared to the original, so we should rather be thankful that the manga is being done by people who care. They're the ones polishing the diamond in the rough.

i watched the anime till midway, and there's so much change. Is it keep going on like that?
I think it will, both the anime and manga adapt the light novel, and the anime seems to follow the source more closely. That being said, I feel like the anime is a low tier generic med-fan harem anime, and this manga a very beautifully drawn dilf hem daddy anime with fricking epic fight scene and more tension (like the one square with the glare of the male royal guard when Beryl tells him he knows, I legit got goosebumps) than they even try to have in the anime.

Hem. TLDR: probably, even though major story points will most likely match.

Tbf manga add a LOT of stuff, compared to the source material (ln). The anime adapt the ln quite faithfully (regrettably).
Wait really? I always thought light novels would have more details than manga since they aren't limited by panels at all and it takes so much manga to even keep up pace with the light novel. I was planning to pick this up eventually but if the light novel has less material then it might get pushed down the list until I catch up on Mater Magician and Slow life as a blacksmith

that was what i was thinking as well, thats too big of an unburned wood left considering they erased ashes and soot from the campfire. It was either deliberately left by the assassins or were supposed to believe that a group of assassins who would go so far as to erase ashes and soot from a campfire would miss such an obvious giveaway when cleaning up

If you follow the manga discussion in the forum and r/manga the general consensus is the manga is far superior than the source material :pepela:

That's normally the case but this series is one of the rare exceptions.

I think there was another one like this but I can't quite remember.
