While I do appreciate progressing the plot and more lore, it does feel slightly jarring compared to the original tone of the manga even though I thought the action bits were fine. I think I'm due for reread since it's been so long since this has been updated consistently

From the chapter i read in Vol.5, it's gonna be interesting. Don't know if it's what you want but i found it interesting at least. 😂

And this is how you treat them? Bitch...
They're actually being rather nicely for the circumstances. We know they're good beans but to these new people they're strangers and the one thing they know is their association with Monsanto-Los Alamos. And still, the two are willing to explain things and and admit "Maybe you're right but we can't trust yet"

Spicy lore! I think I see the flaw in these newcomers' reasoning. They're treating the whole of Daigiren like it's one entity, instead of a group of individuals working together. The latter leaves room for differences of opinion. Even if Eternal Children are some kind of robot-copy of former Daigiren members, that doesn't conclusively mean they'll all act in concert or with bad intent.

yeah like, sure the newcomers are being aggro but like, if one person from Daigiren got their shelter destroyed and presumably everyone else at that shelter killed. alongside the fact that Daigiren as an organization is responsible for the creation of the executioners and crystalosis. Yeah obviously they'd have to be aggro. If there's even the slightest chance Saya has malicious intent. She could easily get everyone killed.

And like, she has access to the whole fucking network this city is built on, everything is under her command. if she's malicious which the newcomers can't cross out. She could do literally whatever she wants to them, on top of being immortal by the way.

Worth considering as well: at least with the limited information we have, Saya doesn't need to have any malicious intent at all. The kind of super advanced technology needed to create something like her in the first place seems like it'd make it pretty trivial by comparison to have some sort of override switch or admin control or the like built into her too. If the point of the eternal children is to be vessels, then it'd in fact be naturally expected that Daigiren would have some way to take them over for that purpose right? That'd if anything be more horrifying, that she could be (and as readers know, is) one of the best people in the world, but then she could have her consciousness forcefully enslaved or submerged against her will whenever someone with high enough level access rights wants.

Now hopefully that's not true, either because of it not actually being there, a bug, somebody at the Ushimitsu institute going rogue and editing her to prevent that particular capability being there or something else, but hard to blame survivors for being paranoid under the circumstances. It's harsh but also doesn't seem mean spirited unlike earlier encounter, and they did act to rescue them and didn't just shoot on sight or something.

She is carrying a lot of baggage, it seems.

Welp... I will have to give her some leeway then, the thing with Daigiren, the people she must have lost, and thinking she was the only survivor... that does make someone caustic.

You know what... in retrospect... the level of bioengineering necessary to create a person that has that level of regenerative capacity, athletic abilities, and is functionally immortal, just to make her a janitor... yeah, I should have suspected.

Not that I think Saya knew about any of that or that she was hiding it, it is just that her specs are too high for such a "function".

But the question stays... why does she think that was her mission?

But impressive, ain't it... fuckers cause the literal end of the world... then try to sidestep the consequences and turn immortal... and obviously they wanted immortality, and why wouldn't they... all the cool genocidal maniacs want immortality.

I had the same thought but didn't want to "vocalize" it... you hurt me, friend 😭 .

Our hope is that her birth situation was chaotic enough that if this trigger does exist... situation impeded that it was installed into her.

But now, I am forced to point it out... fuck... Kuu's existence becomes more than a little suspicious, doesn't it?

I wonder if they're focusing on the wrong "threat". Saya is the easy to notice entity. . .but what about Kuu? Born in the same facility, "raised" with Saya, actually does most of the difficult system interfacing. Seems like a small, cute, pet. If I were making a spy/saboteur I'd make something like Kuu, just saying.

That was... not the best first impression. Sure, Saya could be a Manchurian Candidate for the Daigiren but you need to show some evidence instead of putting them in cuffs and pointing a gun at their heads. They might not believe anything you say if you do that.
