Well in latter part of the WN she seems more... Reasonable? For the lack of the word, compared to what she is doing right now. Here she is just bored, and I feel like that's worse.

ah, gotcha. I haven't read the novelizations (though I'm starting to in general; feel like it's been a long time coming tbh), so I'll track this one down and put it on my TBR list.

That said, I could see her being 'bored' here, but I'm also reading this as Sendai's wanting things between them to move beyond this, but of course MC is stuck in her own brain and thus in a holding pattern, keeping Sendai at arm's length.

I would also be a bit bored in her shoes, feeling like I can't push for fear of ruining things, but being unsatisfied with the current status quo.

Without knowing what will happen from here, my guess is that if this is allowed to persist, Sendai will snap eventually and force the point, which means that at least this current weird 'tense lull' has actual meaning for the narrative.

Ah, yeah if you're not familiar with the novels this take makes sense, so without spoiling, not even close ;p I believe the first major breakthrough will happen in a chapter or two if the pace keeps on going like this, so it shouldn't be too far off

Not quite, it's not sexual for any of them.
Miyagi is just liking the sense of superiority of ordering someone that's considered higher socially than her, while Sendai is just bored(I think?)

I just found the WN thanks to a lovely person further up the thread and will be starting it next month, because the characters are great and I gotta know how this all goes down lol
