What is MAD?

Uh.. How do I explain this. Now correct if I'm wrong, but to my understanding a MAD (エムエーディー) is a Japanese term for fan-edited videos, similar to AMVs but broader. The name originally came from “Music Anime Douga” (I think?), but after some time it came to mean any creative, remixed, or highly edited anime video. It mostly includes-nya:

• Anime scenes
• Manga panels
• Game cutscenes
• Original animation
• Special effects, visual tricks, motion graphics
• Audio remixes, sound effects, voice splicing
