I started watching jujutsu kaisen recently, It's actually good. I think Nobara's very pretty.

tried reading the manga.
didn't really hook me in that much.

I'm not surprised. I've started with the anime and it was pretty good. But the manga wasn't my cup of tea and i've abandonned it when the tournament arc started. I'm pretty sure a lots of JJL followers did start with the anime.

For most shonens, the anime is better because the animation make the fight more dynamic. In paper, it's harder to have a very good result.

(before you say anything yes I'm reading the manga aswell)

small review
a bleak, cynical take on the death-game genre that leans hard into desperation and cruelty. The concept is engaging, and the series succeeds at portraying how quickly morality collapses under survival pressure. However, its character writing is uneven particularly with female characters, who are often underdeveloped and given less agency than their male counterparts. While this doesn’t feel like an intentional “women are weak” message, the lack of narrative focus and strategic depth for many of the women makes the imbalance noticeable. Overall, Shibouyugi delivers tension and shock, but its impact would be stronger with more balanced characterization across the cast.
