When they went to visit all the tanuki in Tokushima (starting c56), she was living there. But she'd pretty much learned all the tanuki stuff and wanted to go learn things from the kitsune, so they took her home and she moved in with granny.Who was she again?
Not cool, dude...How can he be sure that what he saw wasn't just more shape shifting magic?
I think he needs to go back and be sure.
Yeah, I was impressed with her just assuming she'd be able to kill any yokai she needed to. Not sure how warranted that is, but jorogumo is pretty powerful in the legends, and like you said, Akane considers it possible! Glad you noticed.I enjoyed seeing the other side of Yotsuyu, where she is as unbothered killing a yokai as she is eating a bug. Especially interesting is how Akane takes her comment seriously. Akane is very powerful, herself, so her taking Yotsuyu at her word about her capability is very telling. Thanks for the chapter, sarusa.
The richness of the characters and their interactions is one of the things that makes this one of my favorite series. I am always on the lookout for such elements. Yotsuyu's character has been steadily growing and deepening, which is great to see. Despite the cliche set up, I am interested to see if Zanma-sensei is heading towards a romance arc for Mutsumi. Kogane and Goro represent an adult relationship, Yotsuyu and Toda represent a young adult relationship, so Mutsumi and Yukio having a teenager relationship would be an interesting addition to this series about relationships.Yeah, I was impressed with her just assuming she'd be able to kill any yokai she needed to. One nice thing about this manga is that he has never drawn it for publication in a magazine. It's all self published. So he has absolutely nobody telling him what he needs to draw or 'oh you need so start a fighting tournament arc now to get your numbers up'. He's just drawing what he wants (I suspect as an escape from his terrible office job?), so a ton of cliches vanish (the editors insist on those). On the other hand some people might get bored with the lack of direction, but I love it!The richness of the characters and their interactions is one of the things that makes this one of my favorite series. I love self published mangas, especially this one. I dunno if this one is self-published, but I loved it. Quite sad the author vanished though. I hope they are well. This one, though is a work of art I cannot fathom a regular human made. One nice thing about this manga is that he has never drawn it for publication in a magazine. It's all self published. I really feel My New Girlfriend is Not Human is pretty similar to this one. It's very limited by how short the chapters are, but it kind of squeezes in all the 'oh I'm a human guy dating a yokai and it can work out' and there is definitely some lore!
The earnestness of the writing does come through. Zanma-sensei clearly has something to say about people and relationships and wants to express it in an entertaining way. I've seen far more cliche and market-driven series fail to keep their series going this long. I'm in for the long haul here. One nice thing about this manga is that he has never drawn it for publication in a magazine. It's all self published. he was told the treats would scare the tanukiWait, wait...fox-kun isn't very bright, is he? He's going to scare a tanuki with tasty treats?
Well, maybe it'd make her really mad when she figured out she could not eat them. Pranked! 😹 And then he gets stomped by angry dragon.he was told the treats would scare the tanuki
unfortunately the person giving him these tips was a wingman
