Whatever it is, I suspect it'll be resolved in favor of our splendid protagonist, but hopefully without too much drama.

it just doesn't quite fit the tone that I've been reading from this up to now, is all.
If that happens, then sure - it's certainly an established aspect to lots of romance manga titles.

But if there will be "drama", I at least hope it won't tip into melodrama. I like tension and conflict, but not when it's characters spinning their wheels and feeling angst purely for the sake of extending out a story's runtime.

Not the best approach to badmouth someone's older sibling, unless you are damn sure the relations between the siblings are no good. But even so, is it wise to immediately stick you nose into that private hornet's nest? This isn't about seeking political alliances or anything. But then again, they are just school kids. Kids sometimes say that sort of things without a second thought.

I think everyone is overestimating the longevity of these new "characters". The boy badmouths his brother, the girl is overly familiar when he doesn't even know who she is.

Ayaka thinks he is making friends but he is clearly not happy and doesn't like these people.
