“I have no choice but to become a completely despicable woman”
yes you fucking do. Please, I thought you were rational. you had the wisdom to see your faults and to understand what happened, and to be able to blame yourself. You’re smarter than this mate.
On another note, Eiji’s mum is good for protecting her son, but when you try and push an apology away (ie, acknowledge it, you don’t have to accept it but at least allow her to apologise), bad shit happens cause they spiral and make increasingly irrational decisions. She’s a teenage girl, people make mistakes. I mean this was a pretty bad mistake ngl but you still use a mistake to teach people. With some people that requires heavy handling but with someone with this much will to better themselves it is better to accept now, and the harshness comes later.
Totally agree.
Also, if the mother had told the cheater/Miyuki that to even approach forgiveness, she would have to come entirely clean, that might have led to faster healing for his son, as well as cleaning up his destroyed reputation.
Having said that, it's easy to get really angry at this as a parent.
Further, how much does the mother know about the bullying and outright lies spread about her son?
I guess she only actually knows about the cheating, and viewed from that vantage point, it's understandable she just wants the cheater gone, so her kind son doesn't forgive her. If she knew everything, she wouldn't think he'd ever want to give Miyaki another chance.
Finally, the one who
really needs behavioral modification is the cheater guy, who seems like a sadist who gets off on breaking people who are in happy relationships.
Miyaki seems more like an immature idiot (well, teenager, if I remember myself - although the whole destroying reputation thing is way beyond normal, and I never did anything even approaching this), although what she seems to be gearing up for now looks to be unforgivable.
I guess mangaka need their drama?
