well series was originally waaaay shorter, so at least we got an expansion, maybe author add more chapters later again.

also was she trying to make the MC hit her? because the memory feels more like she was trying to trigger him, like holy f*ck, then telling him to kys, I'm still not sure in this case what is author trying to say with this story.

I don't think she was trying to make him hit her, she was just remembering the times in the past that went the same way. nothing she said was wrong, hes just using her to nurse his trauma so he never has to heal or change but usually people lash out when forced to confront things they want to ignore or pretend aren't happening. she's knows she's being used by someone who doesn't even have the decency to admit it so she laid into him, i don't blame her.

I feel like this story isn't supposed to end neatly wrapped up. They both might end up better off than they started, on the path to healing, and/or in an actual relationship, but they won't magically heal each other in the short time they've known each other. Maybe we'll get a flash forward ending, but my money's on the climax being some major character growth where they start the process of healing

Would be a kino way to end the manga if he did just step in front of a train right then but he's too much of a nice guy to do something so immediately traumatizing.

so are you saying she has been altruist it enough to try to help him?? no, she has a bad personality and she knows she's like that, all this time she could just cancel meeting him and just live her life, she's not being used, she being paid for that sh!t.
and we have seen other times where she's being obnoxious to other people and this guy had to intervene, she's no saint.

she even saw the coworker of him and got jealous and even went to say to her she's being paid to have dates with him, was there any reason to do that?? no, she's broken, the same as the guy, but at least the guy has a reason to be like that, he lost someone and hasn't healed at all.

She wasn't trying to get him to hit her. She was trying to force him to admit he sees her for her now instead of just a replacement for his wife but refuses to admit it and sincerely pursue her because he's pathetically clinging to the past. The memory of her father hitting her was her remembering a time when she did a similar thing in attacking a man's insecurities and he pathetically lashed out at her. I think her mentally flip flopping on whether she's grown fond of him is her being honest that she likes him, but the part she's most attracted to is his pathetic side which is a common idea in Japanese romance

You know, despite him paying, he is "using" her service and her in specific, because she reminds him of his deceased wife, so yes he is quite literally using her.
And of course she is no saint she herself knows best she has a dogwater personality, but that's honestly just her having no filter pretty sure many people even IRL think like that, they just dont say it out loud.

Also you say "at least the guy has reason to be like that", when you were literally shown she also has a reason for being the way she is, childhood trauma follows you man.

We can all see that he's projecting (it might not be the exact way she thinks he's projecting, but he's still projecting nonetheless), but not being able to notice that she's also projecting her is crazy.

Reminds me of that old notion that the people quick to point out others flaws (especially in a scornful manner) often fail to recognize their own behaviors, or choose to ignore them by focusing on others

I don't think she necessarily wants to help him I just think she just doesn't have time for people being dishonest and wasting her time with it. look at the business she's in she doesn't care morally in the slightest. but everything she's snapped at people for in the story has all been people dancing around problems or being coy and stuff like that. it feels pretty developed as part of her character that she doesn't care if you're a bit fucked up just don't pretend you aren't
