Wanda is in custody and, assuming his brain isn't also fried, will be 100% compliant to any further investigation, and the rest of the Guards involved are all viable witnesses to validate his testimony.

From my understanding, the illusion that Wanda cast on them will trap them as long as the elders don't have the will to repent from the bottom of their hearts. So they will be in a coma until whatever time it is, even if it means trapped until their natural death.
